چکیده
Activated carbon paper-based materials were prepared from softwood pulp, activated powder, and polyester fiber through wet forming process. Then polyethyleneimine was loaded on the using physical impregnation method to fabricate green, low cost, degradable PEI/activated composite adsorbent (PPCA) for removal of Cr(VI) drinking water. The surface characteristics analyzed by SEM, EDX, BET, FT-IR, XPS. It found that maximum adsorption capacity could reach up 1.58 mg g?1 when PEI immersion concentration is 1%, contact time 180 min, temperature 30 °C pH = 2. PPCA conformed both freundlich isotherm model quasi-second-order kinetic model, indicating multi-molecular layer controlled chemical reaction mechanism included electrostatic attraction, redox chelation. Overall, this study provides a large-scalable production way preparation biodegradable efficient water aiding safe management aqueous system.

Removal of hexavalent chromium using coffee husk
The potential to remove chromium(VI) from aqueous solutions through biosorption using coffee husk was investigated. The effects of pH, contact time, initial concentration and adsorbent dosage on the adsorption of Cr(VI) were studied. The data obeyed Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The Langmuir adsorption capacity was found to be 44.95 mg/g. The Freundlich constants Kf and n were 1...

Background: Environmental contamination by chromium (Cr) has become an important issue due to its adverse effects on human health and environment. This study was done to evaluate the application of modified bentonite using sulfuric acid as an adsorbent in the removal of hexavalent Cr from aqueous solution. Methods: Adsorbent features were determined using x-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transf...
متن کاملRemoval of Hexavalent Chromium from Aqueous Solution Using Activated Carbon Derived from Palmyra Palm Fruit Seed
In this study, removal of chromium(VI) from aqueous solutions by Palmyra palm fruit seed carbon (PPFSC) and commercial activated carbon (CAC) was investigated. The metal adsorption capacity has been studied as a function of contact time, pH and carbon dosage. The adsorption yields increased with the increasing of adsorbent dosage and contact time, and subsequently reached the equilibrium. The s...
متن کاملElectrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotube on reticulated vitreous carbon for hexavalent chromium removal in a biocathode microbial fuel cell
For Cr(VI)-removal microbial fuel cell (MFC), a more efficient biocathode in MFCs is required to improve the Cr(VI) removal and electricity generation. RVC-CNT electrode was prepared through the electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotube (CNT) on reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC). The power density of MFC with an RVC-CNT electrode increased to 132.1 ± 2.8 mW m-2, and 80.9% removal of Cr(VI) ...
